The Bush administration is struggling to regroup, the Larry Craig and “DC Madam” scandals are swirling and several high-profile Washington social events are on the horizon. So, what does the Politico’s gossip girl Anne Schroeder decide to do? Leave town.
“Tony Snow isn’t the only one going away,” writes Anne. “I, Shenanigans, will be away, Shenanigansing elsewhere — it’s called vacation — until Sept 19.”
Say what? A three-week break just when Congress is coming back to Washington? Who’s in charge of scheduling breaks at the Politico?
At least her counterparts at the Washington Post and the Examiner chose to take their extended vacations during the usually lazy month of August.
