A tipster just pointed Big Head DC to a message sent by the stepmother of Wonkette’s editor Alex Pareene. The lady’s gone by quite a few names, including Wendy Wilde, Wendy Pareene and Wendy Introwitz Pareene, and she has a lot to say about her poor “scrawny” son, who apparently can’t stand up for himself in a fight:
tell me why my scrawny white teen son has 3 times been beaten up by different black kids in different situations… twice robbed… once left unconscious… but never beaten or robbed by white kids? Our house has been broken into and robbed 4 times… 3 of the 4 times by blacks… once by a white guy… yet our area of town is 49% white, roughly 24% black and 23% Hispanic. If the population percentages were true to crime stats, my son should have been beaten up more often by white thugs, and our house should have been robbed by whites twice, blacks once and Hispanics once.
Wow. Having never realized the sorrows of his life until now, we feel totally bad for picking on him for all these months. Still, we gotta wonder why the kids beat him up in the first place. Any ideas?

Wilde and her husband Michael Pareene founded the 501(c)(3) nonprofit teen centerTwin Cities Underground, that the couple operated in Minneapolis, Minnesota from 2001 to 2007 with the help of dozens of other adult and teen community volunteers. The teen center recorded paid attendance of more than 12,000 at its weekend teen music events that featured live local high school bands and performers from across the Twin Cities metro area.

Hate to spoil anyone’s fun, but she’s trying to comment on why many crimes in many areas are committed more by certain minorities than by whites–not everywhere, not all the time, not racist, not being mean, not being ignornant. She obviously could have stated the problem in a more eloquent manner. But unfortunately, the stats will show that there is a higher rate of crimes committed by certain minority factions than by whites in certain urban areas over long periods of time. And certain minorities are the victims and perpetrators of homicides in many urban areas over long periods of time, also. That’s not mean or racist or condescending, it’s just crime stats. But Ms. Perenne needed to have stated the case more eloquently.
