In a live press conference from California this afternoon, Hustler’s publisher, Larry Flynt, said that his bounty ad for sexploits by DC politicos published weeks ago in The Washington Post has helped him launch over twenty investigations of Congress members “that all look good.”
“[Hustler has] more investigations going than ever before in history,” he said. “I don’t know — there must be something in the air.”
To date, Hustler has taken credit for highlighting illicit affairs that led to both the resignation of former GOP House Rep. Bob Livingston and the embattled situation of GOP Sen. David Vitter, who Flynt said should think about resigning.
The Washington Post ad cost Hustler $106,000, which Flynt said was a small price to pay to reveal political hypocrisy: “If I get just a couple of phonies out of there, it will be worth it.”
It’s unknown yet whether Hustler has over $20 million to pay of his tipsters, if every lead comes through.
Big Head DC will soon present audio snippets from the conference.
