    damned1.jpgThose following the dramas that often unfold in DC Blog World will surely get a kick out of Big Sky Girl’s kinda twisted story. The poor gal’s been blogging her heart out for a long time, but now that she’s looking for a real job, prospective employers have told her that her blog is a big reason why they wouldn’t hire her. In fact, when she knocked on Congress’ door, a hiring manager there said in no uncertain terms that her blog made her “unhirable.” So, imagine her surprise after she decided to stop blogging, when said hiring manager sent her this note:

    Thank you for understanding our concerns regarding the existence of your website. From a business perspective, I felt it was important to pass along our concerns about your blog and I hope that you will find employment elsewhere.

    That being said, I’m really bummed that you decided to shut down your blog. I have been a loyal reader since last summer, and I’m really going to miss you! The second Paris was released from jail, I rushed to Big Sky Girl and you were gone! I hope my comments didn’t cause you to shut down and that will you consider coming back to “the Internets”!

    Please let me know where you land.

When someone tells you that your blog is an ‘unrectifiable barrier’ to your hiring, how are you supposed to take that? So, now I’m unemployed and blogless? I’m going to go bang my head off the tile floor…”

    Ain’t DC blogging grand? And aren’t you glad to know that Congressional staffers rush to local blogs when celebrity heiresses go to jail?
