And you thought Jane Seymour’s neverending quest to sell her self-portraits in Alexandria was bad… But tonight, John Lithgow, will top (bottom?) the recent Seymour storm by reading from his new children’s book ”Mahalia Mouse Goes to College” at the Crystal City Olssons.
The once-respected star - who has received multiple Emmy Awards, Tony Awards, as well as two Oscar nominations - will read rhyming verses introducing the mighty Mahalia, a mouse who leaves her impoverished family behind to search for food. Said rodent soon finds herself interested in a science course after accidentally ending up in a Harvard classroom in a student’s backpack.
“Her diligence and intelligence win the professor’s support, and she goes on to complete four years of study,” according to the School Library Journal. ” She graduates, thus ending this story of stout self-reliance.”
Yes, this is a truly inspiring event not to be missed.
Also by Lithgow: “I’m a Manatee” and “Marsupial Sue.” So be sure to bring extra cash!
