Big Head DC was in Fairfax yesterday to see Ben Affleck give a special commencement speech in recognition of this year’s Falls Church High School graduating seniors. The actor attended the ceremony with wife Jennifer Garner in honor of his longtime friendship with 19-year-old Joe Kindregan, a Falls Church student he met while on a film shoot years ago in DC. Kindregan was diagnosed with the degenerative neurological disease ataxia-telangiectasia in 1996.
The Armageddon star told us he wouldn’t have missed the opportunity to speak at the graduation “for the world.” Said Affleck: “Everything I learned about life that really matters, I learned from Joe.”
Kindregan introduced Affleck to the audience by saying “He is married to the cutest girl … but most important he is the best friend you could ever have.”
Two female students we talked to while at the excited scene seemed to think Affleck is pretty cute himself. “I want to see him shirtless,” giggled one.
No such luck, though, as he stuck to traditional graduation ceremony regalia. But maybe next time, gals.
