In an event that we’re told may be related, we can confirm that XM Satellite Radio suffered a major outage today. Insiders tell us that the company’s XM3 satellite has mysteriously lost its downlinking capability.

One popular theory is that Opie and Anthony fans have unleashed a virus into the XM system, based largely in DC and NYC. Virus experts have indeed been emlisted.
