To the Media:

I am not a Congress that allows itself to be tarried with as if it were a child.

My Irish temperament isn’t predisposed to accommodating the negativeness of hard-headed individuals who live lies.

A recent article in a tabloid newspaper, The Globe, claimed I was in hiding in fear for my life.

Well, I hide from no man. I fear no mortal man of flesh and blood, regardless of the title he wears.

There is a saying that is attributed to radio talk show host G. Gordon Liddy: negative behavior which proves effective will be repeated – and that is oh, so true in the case of President George W. Bush.

This president’s personal negatives (of a lifetime) have guided his decision making – and the course of our nation with it – for so long that this heavy-handed approach on my part is needed to awaken him from his balmy slumbers and demand he reveal his true sexual orientation to the American people.

The civil equality this president seeks to deny others because of their own sexual orientation is the same as his own – albeit a sexuality little-known to the American people.

His use of faux stereotypes concerning the goals of the LGBT (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgendered) community to promote fear and legalized discrimination compels me to document for the American people in my forthcoming book, Lustful Utterances, George W. Bush’s bisexual behavior with Ambassador Victor Ashe (also the former Mayor of Chattanooga) in 1984. Were the President to say “I am a bisexual American” to the American people on or before July 4th of this year, I will remove in its entirety the chapters in Lustful Utterances detailing both of their bisexual behavior.

Either he will tell it to the American people – or I will. I leave it to him to tell, in his own watered-down way if he so chooses, but my patience with him will have reached its apex at midnight July 4th, 2007 – and should he fail to admit the truth about his own sexuality by then, Lustful Utterances will be released on July 6th with all chapters intact.

We all know this president has an extremely hard time facing realities, even those starkly staring him in the face. From his own mouth we know he doesn’t read newspapers or watch TV, seek benchmarks, or do timetables (on a issue far more important to the American people than his sexuality). His ignorance is unprecedented in an American president. Therefore, I am asking those of you with access to other means of informing or communicating with this president to extend to him a one-time opportunity to step up to the plate, do the right thing, and be a role model for other closeted bisexual men such as himself, especially those who feel the psychological need to live the painful role of the heterosexual man. The president will simply need to say five words to the American people, “I am a Bisexual American,” to satisfy me. Anything short of that will not suffice.

I, Leola McConnell, say to George W. Bush, 43rd President of (potentially) the greatest republic on earth, that you have lived this lie long enough – and it is at long last time to clean out your closet. You seek esteem, and believe confessing your true sexual orientation will bring shame upon you – but the American people are a forgiving people who believe that redemption is possible. I believe you will be esteemed all the more for finally taking a step in the direction of reality, a step that may make other realities (for example, our untenable situation in Iraq) crystal clear to you.

It takes a strong man to say he was a wrong man, and now is the time to be that strong man for once in your life, Mr. President.

The internal domestic matter of sexual orientation discrimination which President Bush seeks to constitutionally legalize is one of the most pressing civil rights matters to face our republic in the last 60 years. So often, members of the Republican party will evoke the memory and words of “The Gipper,” former President Ronald Reagan. Now I’m not one to do that, but Reagan’s words to then-Soviet Premier Gorbachev in reference to the notorious Berlin Wall are precisely what the doctor would order for this president’s particular affliction: “Mr. Gorbachev, tear down this wall!” So I say to you, Mr. President:

Tear down this wall!

Demolish this hateful, volatile and repressive wall that divides Americans one from another using sexual orientation politics as its mortar when we both know you, too, are a bisexual American.

This deadline of July 4th is non-negotiable. Your ability to continue this sexual orientation charade is at an end.

Capitulation, a complete and total surrender to reality is your only option.
