The AP reports today on Newt Gingrich’s affair during Bill Clinton’s own Monica Lewinsky affair, but a pseudonym-clad local blogger insists the situation is not news.

“In the mid ’90’s I worked down the hall from [his mistress],” Pagan Marbury writes today. “Everyone knew who she was, and she revelled in her status as the woman kept by the Speaker. She was not your stereotypical mistress - she was on the plump side, and she wasn’t aging well, even back then. She also wasn’t very nice.

“After leaving Congress, Newt made an honest woman out of her, after divorcing his second wife for whom he had divorced the mother of his two children.”
