The Children’s Defense Fund has announced its very own Presidential candidate, a suspiciously cute child named Susie Flynn, and we’re aghast at the flagrant violations of law and campaign etiquette the organization is espousing.

First of all, Susie is 9. The Constitution clearly states that one must be 35 to run for Prez.

Secondly, her platform isn’t exactly razzle-dazzle:

My name is Susie Flynn. I am running for President of the United States of America to help the nine million children living without health insurance. This is a crisis. These children have been let down, yet the people accountable  are doing too little to solve it. By running for President, I intend to make everyone in America aware of the issue so that it will no longer be ignored. Under your next President, every child in America must get the health insurance he or she deserves.

Yeah, obviously just another idealistic kid full of pipe dreams.

But lastly, and perhaps most damningly, can a nonprofit like CDF sponsor an illegal Presidential candidate with a boring platform? We should think not. Write your Congressman today.
