HOT HEADLINERS

So went President Bush’s pithy, if improper, greeting to the White House Press Corps today. Then he talked about war and terror and blamed the media for showing “disturbing violence” on TV. And, of course, he mentioned that success in Baghdad = success in the homeland.

“People want to live in peace,” he said. “They want to live in a peaceful environment.”

Next came questions from the peanut gallery:

Terrance Hunt asked whether Vladimer Putin’s “soul” has changed since 2001. Nope, said Bush: “Common goals.”

Steve Holland: How do you know Iran is responsible for sharing weapons with Iraq? “Either they knew or didn’t know,” said Bush.

David Gregory questioned if we’re going to war with Iran. Unclear answer from the Prez. Gregory pressed for a clear answer. Didn’t get one.

Bush “strongly disagrees” with the person Bret Baier asked about (he talks fast!). “North Koreans have to prove themselves.”

I’m bored, done with this…
