David Barzelay, a local blogger and law student at Georgetown University, somewhat suspiciously predicted the imminent demise of former Congressman Robert Drinan — almost a full year ago when he posted his class schedule online. In said posting, Barzelay noted that he’d signed up for professional responsibility course taught by Drinan, who was also a well-respected priest.
A commenter known by Barzelay soon warned, “You’re treading in dangerous waters taking Drinan. Go with Frisch for PR in your third year.”
To which Barzelay responded, “Aside from the danger that he’ll die and screw up my schedule, what is the danger with Drinan? I thought he was supposed to be pretty cool?”
But apparently not cool enough to stay in the class. Barzelay soon shifted his curricula, thus avoiding a messed up third year of law school now that Drinan has passed away.
How did the commenter know that Barzelay should alter his sked? Why was Barzelay so quick to take the advice? Did the duo plot something more egregious than the teachings presented within any professional responsibility course? Should an atopsy be requested?
These are the questions. What are the facts?
