Have you heard of that documentary My Date with Drew? In short, it’s about this random 27-year-old unemployed guy named Brian Herzlinger who’s had a crush on Drew Barrymore since he was in the second grade. The movie documents his efforts to get Drew to go on a date with him in 30 days. Not surprisingly, his efforts quickly turn futile, but you’ll have to add the film to your Netflix queue if you want to know more.
A few of us recently saw the movie and wondered how we might turn our own meager plight into a glorious Brian Herzlinger-like experience. We immediately realized, however, that we didn’t want to go on dates with anyone, especially with anyone famous. (Some of us no longer like to leave the house in grown-up clothes.) But, this being a DC icon blog and all, we didn’t think it would be fair not to give one lucky reader the chance to win a date with one of the biggest stars to rock Washington in recent years.
We wanted someone sexy.
We wanted someone that everyone knows.
We wanted someone who’d be fun on a date.
We wanted someone who might have a few secrets in his or her closet.
Most of all, we wanted someone who’s available.
With those criteria in mind, who else could we choose but Jessica Cutler, the former Washingtonienne and current hater of all things legal — or at least of things related to the legal system.
Now, there are two parts to this contest. First, we’ve got to get Cutler to agree to go on a date with one of you fools. It’s not going to be an easy feat considering that she now lives in NYC and tends to wig out on appearances even when she says she’ll be somewhere. We’ll do what we can, maybe even buy her some slutty clothes or drugs. Yeah, come to think of it, this shouldn’t be that hard. But we shall see.
