In another scoop involving Washington City Paper’s Erik Wemple, the anonymous person behind the Circumlocutor blog provides us with “Wemple’s Wife Slings the Shit (Literally) in Pet Spa Dispute–And Was Arrested for It, Too.”
No judgments, of course, but dontcha love it?
We recently asked the masked blogger — who goes by the initial “E” (Mr. E?) — a little about his or her ongoing cause:
“I have met Erik Wemple and his wife, Stephanie Mencimer, before…but this is a small place, so, who hasn’t?” asks the blogger. “He doesn’t know me personally and has never waged a vendetta against me. His vendettas, however, are well known around
town, and I’m surprised that they have been rarely mentioned in the past.
“Wemple and the City Paper have so often been critical of other publications but rarely, I feel, has anyone been critical of him or the City Paper,” he or she adds. “His actions (like many in a town where drug dealers pedal their wares next to churches but a new bar catering to–gasp–”gays” causes community concern) smack of hypocrisy. I realize that in saying these things I open myself up for similar charges…but, come one, I have been running a fundraising drive to rent K-Fed for D.C. … that is, I would worry if anyone considered me a pillar of wisdom.”
Actually, we consider you a pillar of fashion. Ponder that, if you will.
